Will Young ist zurück. Der Mann, der 2002 die erste Staffel Pop Idol im englischen Fernsehen gewann und mir im gleichen Jahr mit seiner Version des Doors-Klassikers “Light My Fire” den Atem stocken ließ.
Jetzt, sechs Jahre später, ist der Sound ausgefeilter, reifer und erwachsener. Man beschränkt sich nicht mehr nur auf die ursprünglichen Zielgruppen kreischender Teenies, die mit Blend-a-med-Lächeln und schmierigem Zwinkern um den Finger zu wickeln versucht werden.
Will Young selbst sagt über den neuen Klang:

“I wanted to simplify. I concentrated on lyrics, melodies and voices; where the listener feels like they are in the room with the singer, you can really hear every last breath.”

Das hat er geschafft. Die Single “Changes” erscheint am 22. September 2008. Das dazugehörige Album “Let It Go” folgt am 29. September 2008.
